A computer that doesthe work with you.
Cloud assistants ask you to upload your life and then be careful about what you share. MeghaOS runs on your machine instead, which means you can hand it everything, and that is the only way it gets genuinely useful.
Privacy is not the feature. It is what makes the feature possible.
With a cloud assistant you hold back: you do not paste the contract, you do not connect the bank statements, you do not point it at the folder with everything in it. Which means it never has enough context to be more than a better search box.
When the model runs on your own machine there is nothing to hold back from. That is the whole difference.
- Your documents and their contents
- Mail, calendar and contacts
- Financial records and statements
- Everything it learns about how you work
- Every prompt you ever type, and everything you say out loud
None of this is transmitted anywhere while inference is running locally. Choosing a hosted model, or connecting an outside service, sends what you route to it, and you pick that at setup and can change it whenever.
What actually changes about using a computer.
You ask out loud before you sit down
Speech recognition runs on the machine, so you can just ask. Calendar, mail and documents come back as one composed view of what moved, what needs you, and what you can ignore, waiting on screen by the time you get there.
The tedious research just happens
Ask for something scattered across a dozen pages and get a table back. The browser drives itself, and it browses from your machine, so anything you can already see, it can already reach, down to finding the thing you need and putting it in the basket. Spending stops and asks you first.
Your own files are finally usable
Contracts, statements, notes going back years, indexed locally and actually searchable by meaning. The kind of access you would never grant a cloud assistant.
It carries on and tells you when it is done
Send it a task from the chat apps you already use, or by email, and it keeps working while the laptop sits at home. Long jobs message you the moment they finish instead of waiting for you to check.
It forgets nothing and tells no one
What it learned about how you work stays on the machine. Clearing it is a local delete, not a support ticket.
Ask it something. See what comes back.
This runs in your browser with mock data, but the composition is the real thing.
What does my week actually look like?
Four things want you this week
Where the hours went
Uninterrupted blocks per day, Monday to Sunday.
Drawn by the desktop’s own renderer, from the schema the agent writes against: same widget set, same light theme, same card frame. Composed for Agents & integrations. The data is invented; on your machine it would be your own.
The things people ask first.
Do I need to give it my data?
It reads what is already on your machine. On first launch you choose where inference runs: a local model, which needs no account and makes no network call, or a hosted provider if you want more capability. Pick local and nothing you type or open is uploaded, and that is enforced by there being nowhere for it to go.
If I talk to it, where does my voice go?
Nowhere. Speech recognition and speech synthesis both run on your own machine, so there is no audio upload and no transcription service holding a copy, which is what makes voice usable for the things you would never say near a smart speaker.
Will this break my Mac?
The Mac edition is an ordinary application. Drag it to Applications, run it, delete it if you do not like it. No dual boot and no virtual machine to configure.
Do I need to know Linux?
Not for the Mac app. The Linux desktop and full OS editions are there when you want stronger guarantees, but they are a choice, not a prerequisite.
What does it cost?
The local experience is free. Pricing for Pro features is still being finalised; there is nothing to enter a card for today.
- The Megha 0.6B local modelWhat actually runs on your machine, and why it is deliberately small.
- How an agentic operating system worksThe plain-English version, with no Linux vocabulary in it.
- Why local processing is a guarantee, not a promiseThe architecture that makes "your data stays here" enforceable.
It is free, and itruns on the Mac you own.
No account, no card, no upload. Delete it in thirty seconds if it is not for you.
